3 fics. I did... 4? (2 chapters for Happy Birthday, 1 fallout 4 oneshot, and one Naruto oneshot I haven't published yet.)
4 drawings with more than one character, full body. I did 2 sketches, two people in each.
7 landscape speedpaints. I did none.
Takeaways:
I like to write more than I like to draw, right now. Hm. I need to make a useful system to keep track of what I write.
I want to work towards a balance between my creative interests. More thinking is required.

sometimes i write what i know will be a multi-chapter fic, but then i want to write all the chapters before I start posting it.
what I'm doing now with the Shino/Tenten fic is posting as I finish chapters. It feels... ok? I'm trying to have fun with each chapter. I'm glad I'm not running out of steam yet, I have many things I want to write for this fic.

"What do you think you should do?" Shibi answered softly. His voice rarely rose, always even. His father was calm, logical, and kind, but not very expressive. He watched him like a statue, reclining behind his desk.
Shino fidgeted in his pockets and considered the facts. Tenten didn't like him ever since she found out he had killed several times before. And at the dango shop she seemed to resent all of them. Kiba had insulted her with his careless comments.
He didn't want to think he could salvage a friendship from her, but he still dared to hope. If anything else, Shino felt a sense of obligation to repay her kindness. His father had taught him this much.
Shibi watched him as if his objectively small issues were as serious as the legitimate concerns of the clan. A small stack of papers waited for him on the desk. He shouldn't waste his father's time.
"When is her birthday?" Shibi asked.
"Today."

By a stroke of luck they got the last table during the rush hour. They had just sat down and Shino decided to train on his own, and sent out a few insects to get a sense of the crowd. Untrained civilians, a few had weak chakra training, and then there was one with strong chakra, like a shinobi-- Shino looked up.
Tenten stood among the full tables, a plate of dango in her hands, looking lost. Hinata looked where he did and spotted her too, and called Tenten's name and waved happily. They were friends, ever since Tenten befriended Hinata on her birthday. Hinata still wore the kunai hairclip.
Shino nodded at her when she approached, but she just glanced past him.

Jan. 3rd, 2019 07:41 pmOn one hand I want to change the title of the fic currently named Happy Birthday, bc it doesn't sound bloody and complicated and poetic enough. But I have no idea to what.
On the other hand, I want to lean into it and have it make sense as a title.
On the third hand, I suppose I could add a subtitle once I know more abt how it'll turn out. Like: Happy Birthday: [Awesome Edgy Subtitle Here]
I have rough ideas for the next few chapters, and their relationship is going slow. I enjoy writing that. I wish I found more fic to read where characters figure out each other, whether or not they like or hate the other.
I have vague ideas written out for end game stage of their relationship. I'm looking forward to getting there, but I want to take my time. I can only write as fast as I am able. :/
Also I checked out the AO3 tag for Shino/Tenten. ...It's bad. It's barren. I have my work cut out here. I do have a 2nd fic I have a bit written for with this pairing too, but it's not the focus of the story. I'm pretty hype for that one, tbh.

Their mission was to assist Team Gai in tracking down and securing bandits in a large area. Kurenai-sensei had promised the Lady Hokage they would finish the mission. Shino felt the weight on his shoulders. Their sensei's honor was on the line now. One look on the determined faces of his teammates told him they felt the same weight.
All five of them had travelled non-stop, only resting the bare minimum and eating rations, except for Akamaru who was still growing. They were getting close now, journeying through the branches of tall woodlands, when Kurenai-sensei raised her arm.

I'm writing a Shino/Tenten fic rn, and I haven't planned it all out yet. I am almost done w the 2nd chapter, and I might wanna re-write the 1st one. I believe i found a darker tone I enjoy more. The first ch was a bit fluffy, i don't remember really, i avoid re-reading anything I publish after I just published it. Still, I want to change the title and summary to reflect the tone I want to get right.
I hope I'll one day complete it, but who knows. I have no plan to follow for this fic.
Also. I am playing Fallout 4 again. I want to just. Write about Finas, Casimiro and other characters from Hanna is Not a Boy's Name in that setting. But I don't know if there's a point. I might just write up the synopsis of how things happen, bc it's a niche cross-fandom story and I'm not sure there's an audience. :/ I could just make 'em OCs and write a pure Fallout 4 fic, I guess, bc the HiNaBN characters have very little canon to work with, they're made out of fan speculation and duct tape.
And then there's the Big Fic I've been working on for years, Hanna is Not a Boy's Name, polyamorous vampires and a vampire hunter enemies to friends to lovers to enemies to lovers again and a rollercoaster. Shino's been my Shiny New muse for a while now and pushed it aside. Whenever I'm not taking care of the puppy I probably did smth Shino-related.
Eh. I'm going to work on getting a system in order, try different things, see what works best. We'll see.

"Did you need something?" he asked as she stopped in front of him and rummaged in her shoulder bag. He'd had maybe one conversation with Tenten, ever. Had something happened?
Tenten looked nervous and grabbed something, seemed to steel herself and held out a book with a forced grin.
"Happy birthday, Shino-kun."

Welp I just posted my first fanfic to a comm on DW. I guess I'm into this place. It's too late at night to figure out how to link to it and I'm too tired. I'll be allowed to publish it on AO3 on friday so I'll make a post about it then.

Impression of DW so far
Dec. 12th, 2018 02:17 pmI've figured out a little more. There's a lot of prompt communities for writing, more than I saw on Tumblr. I hope I can get inspired if I stick around.
I'm vaguely positive, but still thoroughly confused. I've looked at other people's journals to understand the convention for posting fic, but I'm not 100% yet. I have a thing where I want to avoid doing a faux pas.
Until I figure it out I suppose I should keep writing regardless.

I'll link to my various fics over various fandoms, and whenever I write new fic. Not sure how the fanart is supposed to work.
I haven't found much active communities, but I probably didn't look the correct way, or there aren't that much interest for those things here as on tumblr. Maybe as more people come over from the blue hellsite. shrug
EDIT: I honestly expected there to be communities for specific ships? So ppl can find their cuppa tea? How do people manage to find what they look for otherwise? How do even?
